Releasing Passport - VFS

Hi ,
I have submitted my passport to VFS about 2 1/2 months ago and there is not decision on the case yet. Can I take back my passport from VFS as I need to travel. WIll VFS charge for the service ? Has anyone taken the passport without paying since the case has taken more than 60 days.

It cost ₹5000, you can request VFS to request it from British embassy , it’s called “ keep the passport “
