Urgent Help Needed - English Language Test Requirement

Hi, can someone please advise on the English Language Test requirement for T2 General Extension application.

I was in UK under T2 ICT from May 2010 to Aug 2014
Switched to T2 General in Aug 2014
Applied for Extension in May 2016(Same employer)
Applied for another Extension now(Same role and employer)

Until now I've always submitted my original bachelor degree(B.Tech in Computer Sc & Engg) certificate(taught in English in India). But after going through the guidance it appears I now need to have a NARIC certificate for English Language Test requirement. Is it mandatory now(not sure if the rule was changed recently)? And does my dependent wife also need to provide the same.

I've just booked the appointment in 3 days but if I need NARIC certificate I may have to reschedule the appointment

Hi,
I've spoken to few people who had recently extended their Tier 2 General VISA however receiving contradictory response regarding NARIC certificate requirement.
Will highly appreciate if anyone can advise here please

I am planning to apply for a Tier 2 General, I have appeared for the IELTS test as the English language test.
I did not go with B.E degree as there's too much process involved with it now.

Are you switching to Tier 2 General in which case it's definitely required.
It's not very clear for Tier 2 General extension. Although it's not mentioned in the document checklist I received after submitting the application. So I believe it won't be required for extension application.

No I am not switching to Tier 2. New application. I am not sure of the Switching to Tier 2 as well. Better you appear for IELTS and attach it with the visa application form.
