[Urgent help] non-EEA unmarried partner Pre-settled status after relationship ended

Post by Dihanhan21 » Mon Apr 15, 2019 11:20 pm

Hi all,

I am in a very confusing situation and am very appreciate it if somebody can give me advice here.

I am a non-EEA unmarried partner of a French citizen. Following is my immigration status timeline:
06/2013 – 01/2015 Tier 4 student visa
Met with my partner and started our relationship in Nov 2013.
01/2015 – 02/2016 Tier 4 student visa
02/2016 – 08/2016 EEA family permit
09/2016 – 02/2017 EEA family permit
03/2017 – 09/2017 residence card application processing
09/2017 – 09/2022 UK residence card
02/2019 – now EU pre-settled status application processing

My partner and I applied for settled status together in Feb and he got result straight away. I was contacted by HO and was told that I am only eligible for pre-settled status at the moment. Still waiting for the result.

The real problem is now my partner decided to break up with me and he also plans to move out of the UK. In this case I am not sure what I should do. I really want to stay here as I built my life here. I am working and I have friends here. If the relationship breaks down it means I will lose my right to stay in the UK? Also since my partner plans to leave the UK, will his absence end my status automatically as well? Is there anything I can do to stay in the UK without him?

Thanks a lot for any help here!
