Divorce after sattle status granted non eu

Post by Fbiboy2002 » Mon Mar 25, 2019 7:44 am

Hello members
I have a question maybe its important for many of us
What will happen if I'm a non EU member got a divorce from EU family member after I granted sattle status?
If my sattle status granted in February 2019 and the divorce happened let's say July 2019 .
Is that affect our status or we got the sattle status and that's it ?
Thank you guys !

You are no longer dependent on your spouse, divorce will not effect your status

@Irfan1648 - have you got a piece of any Legislation to back your argument/reply. Whether is an EU article or UK legislation to back you or just what you think.

Once it’s granted , it’s same status as indefinite leave to remain , so you will be ok

Thanks Irfan I got answer from the resolution centre agreed with you I replaced my name with x x

Dear x x
Thank you for your question about what the EU Settlement Scheme is and who
should apply.
In answer to your query, a non-EEA national who has been granted settled status
based on their relationship with an EU national spouse will not lose their status if the
relationship then ends.
However, an individual will lose their settled status if they are outside of the UK for
more than a continuous period of 5 years.
If you require further assistance regarding the EU Settlement Scheme, please do not
hesitate to contact us on 0300 123 7379. Our opening times are Monday to Friday
(8am to 8pm); Saturday and Sunday (9:30am to 4:30pm).
UKVI is keen to continually review and improve its service to our customers. To help
us to do so, we would be grateful if you could complete our pilot customer survey

Just got this reply . I wonder why every one have different answer from UK ba

Non-EU nationals must have an EU sponsor family member in order to be eligible for the scheme. Caseworkers consider the evidence provided and verify the relationship between the applicant and the sponsor at the time of application carefully.

If a relationship such as a marriage ends after the non-EU national has been granted status, their specific cirucmstance such as the status granted, length of the marriage and time in the UK may affect whether this status is retained.

In order for us to assist you futher with your enquiry, we would need further information about the specific case.
