Working out of UK, impact on FLR !!!

Post by Ajay Kumar Singh » Tue Mar 08, 2005 8:20 pm

Hi All,
A quick query. I haven't read the ILR guidelines, can anyone tell in short if working outside of UK during FLR period has negative impact on the ILR?

cheers

Ajay, can you explain that? You already have ILR? You are wondering about effect on FLR? Why? Is your question about effect on applying for naturalisation?

How long do you intend to work outside the UK?

John apologies ..
it's otherway
I have FLR and I was aksing the impact on ILR.
I'm looking to work as contractor for say 6 months-1 yr in EU countries. So my Q. was if it will impact my ILR ? Is there any such clause of absent from UK during FLR period which affects ILR ?

cheers
Ajay

Hi Ajay

Please see the following thread for similar question.

http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... hlight=ilr

Had a look at the ILR form SET(O) on the Home Office website and it asks you to explain any absences for more than 3 months.
3.2 Since then have you had any absences of 3 months or more outsidethe UK? Yes No
If you have answered yes to question 3.2, you should list these absences in the box below and explain the reason(s) for the absence(s).

3 months absences

Post by Cleo » Fri Mar 25, 2005 10:56 pm

re this three month absences question:

can you just come over to the UK - for a weekend - once in a while to "break" the three months absence?

...and I still feel that the original poster's question have not been answered. the link to a thread only points out to a discussion about EC/FLR periods, nothing to do with the "working out of UK, impact on ILR" topic. I am very interested to know the answer too!

I still didn't get the answer. Seems to be a little bit complex question.
Anyone ??
