Documents for settelment Visa for a minor child.

May I Kindly ask you a favour to list the documents for a settlement visa for my son (Minor) to come and join me(British Citizen) in UK, I would appreciate your help in replying or pasting the relevant links if they have been answered, as I don't find them in here.

Thank you for your replies, would I need a solicitor for applying for this visa or can I apply by myself? Not sure how complicated this visa type is? Is it a straight forward visa or do I need someone's technical knowledge on this type of visas?

Not hard if you meet the requirements and have all the evidence required, including proof of child's other parents death.

If I may ask, why have you not brought the child sooner than now?

Further to my above questions, may I know what type of visa will be issued to my son when applied for a settlement visa ( please note I am British citizen but I was not before my son was born), Can I apply from UK or should I only apply from the country where my son is residing at the moment?
When I am applying online what is exact link path i need to use?

You can complete the online form on behalf of the child but it has to be submitted and etc in the country the child is living.

Have you read the link at all?? The online link takes to the page which clearly states 'Appendix FM Child' and then follow the process as it is a 'settlement', 'settlement', 'child' visa. You also need Appendix 1. https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ix-1-vaf4a

Apply at the same time as your parent
You must apply online. You also need to complete Appendix 1, unless your parent is applying to enter the UK as the partner of:

a British citizen
someone with settled status
someone with leave to remain as a refugee
someone with humanitarian protection
If your parent is one of the above, you do not need to complete Appendix 1 as well as applying online.

It’s so stressful looking lots of links and sub links.

After going through documents It has raised another few doubts.
1. Do I need to have a court order ( for showing legal custody of the child)?
2 . Do I need to have a DNA test as child is 14 and not much evidence I have now to show my sole parental responsibility. As I never thought I would need all these.

3. I am living ( sharing his house)with my landlord with no tenancy agreement, but He is happy to give me a letter is that enough to prove for accommodation arrangements? ( It’s 3 bed room house each one of us have one room and spare room will be for my son to be joining)

Please note- I was not married to a child mother and mother had passed away 10 years ago , and child has been living with child’s mother side relatives ( Aunty & Uncle)
