PBS(Tier2G) Dep extension for ILR Partner

Hi, I need some information for my application as PBS (Tier2 General) Dependent and my partner is currently on ILR (Tier2 Gen 5 years route).

And I need second extn for 1.5 years(0.5 initial + 3 years 1st extn) to complete 5 years as PBS dependent to be eligible for my ILR. So I called UK home visa enquiries and they said the standard PBS extension would be given for 2.5 years, and I paid my IHS surcharge for the 2.5 years now. I have appointment in 2 days to submit the documents.

Today one of my friends said that I get 3 years of visa and I paid incorrect IHS surcharge for only 2.5 years. Is this correct?

Partners: We will grant leave in line with the expiry date of the Main Applicant’s leave, except where the Main Applicant has been granted indefinite leave to remain. In these cases, we will grant you a period of three years leave. An application for further leave may then be made if required to take you up to the applicable qualifying period for indefinite leave to remain.

In the above last sentence it says I could apply upto the qualifying period for ILR which is 1.5 years.

So now Iam confused which one is it?
1) 2.5 years as per UKVisa Enquires
2) 3 years as per a friend
3) 1.5 qualifying period as per the quidelines.

I would appreciate if you can provide any official source to back up your answers.

Don't be.

It doesn't say you can apply to cover just 1.5 years.

Regardless of what you need, you'll get 3 years if successful. So it is what you'll have to pay for.

Regardless of what you need, you'll get 3 years if successful. So it is what you'll have to pay for.

Call them again and definitely you will get another different answers because the staff answering over the phone is not immigration staff rather an agency staff/Security.
