Two quick and related questions......

My wife is now in the eighth week since approval on May 3rd, and is still waiting for her invite from Paris.

Does the invite usually come directly from the consulate or is it TLS contact, and will it come through her solicitor in the UK or directly to her?

Many thanks
I thought i would bump this if any of you recent approvals can advise...

I might try bletchly’s trick and email my caseworker in CT4 which I guess is case team 4 and see if that elicits a response. How long do they take torespond bletchley?

Hi, and congratulations, where was the ceremony carried out, is there a British embassy or consulate in Atlanta, Georgia?

They responded within about 24 hours that my certificate had been dispatched. Then I was contacted directly by the consulate to schedule the ceremony.

Now this is bizarre. My email was replied to. Paris have all the documentation and have tried to contact my wife by email but we have not received it.

I use and we gave a @mac.com address but they said i am using a different address. Maybe @icloud.com or @me.com.

At any rate we cannot see their email. We have contacted the embassy and citizenship support and asked them to send again but also to copy my solicitor / representative so that someone receives it...

So far nothing but fingers crossed. I have no idea for how long they have been trying to contact us....

When you receive your approval letter from the home office, for the first time you get the name of someone. They also supply an email address which you are supposed to use if you have not received your ceremony invite after twelve weeks. I used it after the eighth....

OK, I see.
I have sent an email to Further inquiries again, I am approaching 16 weeks since application still no biometrics invite, I am worried the mail was sent but I never received it.

The embassy in Paris has finally managed to get in touch, and my wife will receive an invite for 11th September. That is a full ceremony with the Ambassador. If she wants to arrange a different date it would be a simpler quicker ceremony at the consulate. She wants it sooner so will probably try that.

So that it is 10 weeks since approval with the email problem, and i believe she lost four weeks due to the misplaced biometrics. I doubt this is typical so i am minded not to update the full timeline.

Thanks to all for your help, and i will surely advise anyone if i can do so.

Au revoir

Congratulations Conky2a.
I applied from South Africa and received my approval letter at the end of April (timeline posted under Jeanie W, but I’ve lost my login details) and have heard nothing more. It’s been 11 weeks today and your posting has encouraged me to contact them. I emailed the address given on the approval letter, and hope to get a reply soon.
This timeline has been a fantastic source of support and information - thank you everyone

I forgot originally and did not get a reply, but as soon as I did, they got back in 48 hours...

You do not need to send either. A simple color photocopy of the US passport end to end is enough, no certification. I did nothing more than that.

Here you go; not a single name in the document.

Hi Ballet,

Brilliant this really helps me a lot (apologies, I kept under the radar for a while after my protocol breach!)

Seems like the British High Commission letter you appended is a generic notification, presumably there were no names or signatures on the document ?

(Last week I received an e-mail referring me to make a consular appointment , the tariff for a letter around 100 pounds!!- you really have helped )

I am getting a bit anxious as DHA scuppered a previous EU passport application for which I was eligible for , on account of the fact that they took 5 years to respond to certain documents required and the window of opportunity was closed before I could fulfill the application requirements.

My application is 2 months behind yours, it seems like many hoops to jump through .

I am very pleased that you finally managed to get some form of confirmation from DHA you appear to be close to the end of the process ... wishing you all the best .

This support group really does help, with advice and other invaluable info,

Cheers

Hi Faircape

There were no names (not mine), no dates and no signatures in the document. It is all really very generic and I had no issue in getting the retention document. It was waiting for me exactly when they said it would be. The total amount of time (submission & collection) at DHA was around 20 minutes; so completely painless.
