EU Dependent Schengen Visa for mother

Hi,

I am an EU Citizen and planning to have a short holiday trip to France soon, I want to invite my mother to that trip. She is staying in India and is dependent on me (sending money, can show bank transactions)

Can I apply for EU Dependent Schengen Visa (short term) at french embassy in India, the way we apply EU Spouse Visa?

Do I need to travel with her from India while visiting france ? or can she join us at French airport/hotel ?

What documents does she need to provide.

Hi

If you are EEA national but live & work in the UK, you can't invite a family member to France.

Even if you are French, it doesn't matter.

Because when you invite someone, you can only invite them to the country where you reside. As a sponsor, you need to show proof of income and proof of residence. All this is tied to the UK. So the French won't see the point.

However, you can still assist by providing hotel reservation, flight... etc.

I am British, living in UK.

I got EU Spouse visa for my wife (who is my dependent, staying with me) to visit France which was given by French embassy.

I guess the same can apply to my mother (who is my dependent, but staying in India)

No it is not the same thing as your spouse living in the UK with you.
