Spouse Visa Income Requirement

Dear Gurus,

Case
The Husband is British and wife is abroad outside EEA
to bring wife to UK he needs to have £18600 income
He was previously married, divorced and has a child.He has to pay towards this child's maintenance as asked by the Child Maintenance Agency.

Question is does he need to have this child maintenance payment for example £1400 annually in addition to £18600 (£18600+£1400= £20,000) as income to meet financial requirement when applying to bring wife?

If the child is British then he/she will be exempted from financial requirement. But application form will ask about the maintenance payment he is paying for child.

I think you have missed the point that child is from previous marriage
