The situation is that a British born citizen is looking to bring an Indian national into the uk on a 6 month finance Visa

On the online application form the British citizen has failed to mention that the Indian national was rejected a Visitor Visa for Italy

Although the online application has been submitted and the fee has been paid the Indian national has not yet submitted his passport but this will happen tomorrow

Can the UK citizen cancel the application and ask for a refund and if so would they need to wait for the refund before they can submit a fresh application with the right information?

Or could it work out if when submitting the evidence file a letter from the applicant, spouse or solicitor detailing the error on the Visa application and the details of the Italy visa refusal?

Or should the application take a letter with him tomorrow with details of the error

If from Tommorrow you mean is biometrics appointment then yes covering letter clarifying that error can be scanned & sent along with other documents.
