Well I spoke to a very nice person at FBR today and have been told they are just waiting for my certificate to be printed :) :) :)

Can I say yet that I am now also Irish?

Mary

Give them a call and let them know your new address, I have always found it really easy to get through to them (thanks to Lee's advice of calling on a Wednesday) and always very helpful.

Hi Sulla

Please add me to your extended list , as of today I have reached the 6 month mark , application
received in Balbriggan Co.Dublin 06/02/18 .

Online application - 28/12/18
Application Received - 06/02/19
All other stages of process - Pending

Many thanks
Hi Sulla

Thank you for the add on list in advance .
Today I gave the FBR a call and now there is a option for the Foreign Births section or the passport section after you press no 2 for English so I hope this improves the service . I will try to call the FBR tomorrow because I left it a bit late today and 4th in line so I wasn't going to get an answer today.

Hi Jaxx,

Yes, I think you can. Warm congratulations to you. I hope that your certificate gets printed soon and will be in your hands in a few weeks. Did you ask what date you were added to the FBR?

Thanks Sulla,

I didn't think to ask that question, I was so taken aback that they said it was just waiting on the certificate to be printed!

I don't know how long it takes to print the certificate, I forgot to ask that too

I haven't had any email correspondence though, I thought you got that when you were added or is that once the certificate is printed? I need to check the embassy has the correct address, they said that I shouldn't need to as they will be in touch when returning the documents and the certificate but I think I will just call to make sure at some point in the next week.

Oh and congratulations to you Quondam

Helo Sulla and all,

I'm sorry--I made a mistake. I filed my application on September 4, 2018.

I got through to the FBR office today, and the very nice lady there told me that they are working on applications submitted in August 2018 right now.

Thanks!

Hello all--

I filed my FBR in May of 2018. I totally understand that between Brexit and Trump, DFTA is wildly overrun.

That said, I have since moved, and I am really afraid that if/when any correspondence gets sent to me, I won't get it forwarded.

I tried calling, and the voicemail system doesn't allow messages to be left. How can I get my contact information updated?

Thanks for any and all help.

Welcome to the forum.

Could you possibly be more specific with your application received date? I want to add it to the list. As a May 2018 applicant, you will be joining Jacqui as having experienced one of the longest waits. Did you have to submit other documents later or have clarification requests?

It's fine. I have corrected that. Your wait time seems much more reasonable now and you should be in line for some news soon.

Sulla,

If you could add me to your rolling list - I sent my application on 21 March 2019 from the New York City metro area to the Balbriggan office. I received an email on 28 March 2019 stating that my application had been received.

Thanks

Has DFA or anyone else in the government ever officially suggested a link between Brexit or Trump and increased FBR applicants? This has been conjecture of people here at the least. But have there been any statements from those who actually know? There have been statements about increased passport applications. But I don't recall anything about FBR specifically.

Hi Jaxx

no problem buddy and congrats on your good news .

I did give the FBR a call yesterday at 14.30pm GMT and got straight through and was told the same message the e-mail you received states 6 months to receive your FBR but due to the high numbers of applications procesiing is taking 12 months . I asked when should I check in ? FBR Staff member - If you haven't heard anyhting by February next year give them a call (12 months) .
It's very disappointing and I was expecting a wait but I thought with the changes at the FBR section that would or might start processiing applications at a faster rate .

Yes, I was told over the phone several months ago and several times before that, brexit is the leading cause of the delays, nothing about trump.

Hi Lee,

The reforms that they made within the department seem to have had the effect of accelerating applications made from embassies in some cases at least. In addition, compared to the turn of the year, big improvements have been made in printing times. However, the overall processing for direct to Dublin applicants does not seem to be getting any shorter. It is definitely close to or in excess of the full 12 months for a lot of people now.

Congrats to all who have received their certificates. Still waiting here, and I expect it to be at least Nov before I hear anything (was hoping I might have it all sorted before Brexit!). I've not bothered to phone because I don't really see the point, but maybe I will if it gets to Nov and I still haven't heard anything.

Could I be added to the list of Nov 2018 applicants please (sorry if I missed my name on the list!)?

Hello,

New here. Thought I'd post my timeline.

Applied by post to Edinburgh in Oct 2018. Got an e-mail to say my witness was not on the approved list and could I resubmit my application with an approved witness, which I did. My application was received on 20th Nov 2018.

I hadn't heard anything since, and started to panic, wondering if they had indeed received it or if my new witness was approved, so I e-mailed Edinburgh on the 2nd March to check progress.

They replied to tell me that foreign birth applications were now being processed in Dublin, and gave me a number to call and also the link to the webchat option. I went on the webchat but they just said they only dealt with passport applications and I'd need to call if I wanted an update.

I didn't phone, however on Thurs 21st March (like a few other Edinburgh applicants I gather?), I got an e-mail from DFA Dublin to say that they had received my application and supporting documentation, and that applications can take up to 6 months!

So, it seems like a whole load of Edinburgh applications have been shipped over to Dublin, and they've only now got round to opening the box? It feels like I've wasted 4 months! Hoping they can get round to them quickly, but no idea how the system works!
