Mainframes job market in UK

Hi all,

I am having 4+ yrs exp. in Mainframes. Now looking forward to apply for a HSMP/Tier-1.

Can anyone tell me how is the job market for Mainframes in UK??

Hi,

I am not into Mainframes. I do know a guy on mainframes, he said it is awful, he says there are not job ads for mainframes, did you find any in jobserve ?

Hi,

I am into mainframes, market in UK is very very bad. Only few jobs for them also mainly employers will ask for UK expereince. I got my first contract for three months only after 4 months. After joining three other guys(all from UK) also joined with me in the project. All of them with more than 20 years expereince. We all four joined as Analyst Programmers and earn same money. One more guy also joined from India. He has around 6 years expereince and that too around 3 years in UK. But he said it tool him also around 3 months to get first contract.
Then only I realised that we we don't get job easily here in UK. Because the other guys are from UK itself and also with lot of experience.

Hope this will give you some idea.
