Tier 4 Dependent Vignette

Post by Ash_1709 » Thu Aug 22, 2019 8:24 pm

I received my Tier 4 Dependent Partner Visa but on the Vignette it says "No Work" "No Business". I find it a little confusing as I have read skilled workers and students (Dependent) policy guidance of UKVI and as the main applicant's course is at a degree level and is more than 9 months I, as a dependent have right to work full time.

I have been researching since a few weeks now but could not find any information.I would highly appreciate if any one came across a similar situation or any recent change in the policy of UKVI which abstains the dependent of a tier 4 general student to work.

Thank You !!

From this page:
https://www.gov.uk/tier-4-general-visa/family-members

"The 9 month or more" is what makes a student eligible to bring a dependent:

I am also reading this guidance:
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 1563962964

It seems they ask student dependents to show they have maintenance funds in an account before the visa is granted:

From the face of it, if they want you to have funds before coming to the UK, it means they restrict your access to the job market.

Sorry, but that is nonsense.

OP, the work prohibition on your vignette appears to be an error. I advise you query it with the issuing post.
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

I have met all the conditions including the maintenance funds.

I agree..I contacted the UKVI,High Commission and VFS center. UKVI email and call was apparently for consultation before application and asked payment, embassy without taking any interest asked to contact VFS , VFS after 1 week called and said decision is made by the embassy so they can't do anything but I made my case of error on vignette so the counselor said she would confirm from the embassy then let me know, still waiting to hear from them.
