Thanks for that. Unfortunately your country does not appear to have the needed reciprocal agreement which would have permitted you to claim.

The countries are mentioned on this extract from the HMRC's Child Benefit Technical Manual.

But permitted to claim are nationals of :-

Algeria, Morocco, San Marino, Tunisia and Turkey

-: and also if they are a national of, or a person who has come to live in the UK from :-

Barbados, Canada, Israel, Jersey and Guernsey, Mauritius, New Zealand and the former Yugoslavia (i.e. applies to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, and Montenegro, and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia)
