Tier 2 Visa Standard Service Documents Submission

Hi,

Can someone who has already been through the process please confirm to me that if we are applying for tier 2 visa extension via the STANDARD SERVICE you are no longer required to post your documents/passport right? You can upload them and then take it to the UKVCAS appointment. Is that correct?

I know previously you had to post them but now I think the rules have changed am I correct?

Obviously the application is made in the UK.

Do they take the passport for the duration of the application or return it after looking at the appointment?

Also, does the 8 weeks start from the appointment or from the date of online application submission?

I understand 8 weeks starts from biometric appointment.
