Congratulations. Happy to hear that you got your certificate in your hands.maddeningbike wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 11:44 amWell, I received my FBR certificate today .
My application was received 31st August 2018 and I was added on 30th August 2019. I received an email on the 30th last week asking to confirm my address, but had no follow up after that so thought that there might be a problem. Thankfully everything was OK. Checked the tracking information and it was posted on the 3rd.
Passport application next. Good luck to everyone still waiting

Otherwise, the minimum for passport renewals is three days. But obviously, you won't be a renewal case. For first-time adult applicants:Laurie9434 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 1:14 amDoes anyone know if they do same day passports there? Like we do here in the United States. Since I’m going to be there, I was hoping to avoid the mailing, processing, etc.
"The average turnaround time if you apply via appointment is 20 working days. The average turnaround time if you apply through passport express is 15 working days".
You could make an appointment (you can only get it in Dublin) to get a Stamp 6 (Without Conditions) endorsement in your non-Irish passport. That's for dual-citizenship Irish.

Thanks for posting that article. I want to comment of a couple of points made by the people interviewed.Wims wrote: ↑Sat Sep 07, 2019 9:23 pmArticle about the FBR process (and the delays) in the Guardian, provides some stats for the increase in applications post 2016

Hi Rob,Rob9 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 08, 2019 3:20 amHi Sulla,
Great job your doing, well done, only wish Balbriggan was nearly as efficient, then we may not have as many disgruntled applicants.
If you wish you can add me to your ever lengthening list of eagerly but not expecting any positive news soon applicants.
Application sent to Edinburgh by Royal Mail Special Delivery 11 Dec 2018.
E-Mail received from Ireland on the 21 Mar 2019 stating the usual "applications can take up to 6 months to process" crap.
After reading other posters comments it now looks likely to take an average 12 - 15 months from receipt in Ireland of applications, for the FBR Certificate to be issued and received, then God alone knows for receipt of an actual Irish Passport.
Keep up the Good Work it's appreciated.

Hi Ross,ross12222999 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 3:51 pmHi all,
Just got my email asking to confirm address! Full timeline so far:
- Application sent 8 Oct 2018
- Email saying application received 8 Mar 2019
As an added complication, I've moving house in 3 weeks, so I've told them they better hurry up!
- Email asking for address clarification 9 Sep 2019
Ross
I can confirm that I've had the email from Dfa asking me to confirm my address. So it would appear the process is nearing conclusion.Pumps100 wrote: ↑Thu May 30, 2019 9:17 amHi I'm posting to record my current timeline to help others gauge where they are in the FBR process.
25/8/2018 - Applied online & sent documents to Embassy of Ireland in London.
29/8/2018 - Acknowledgement by email "up to six months to process".
Nothing further. No queries. Now 9 months. Have tried few times to expedite status by phone. Used the two available numbers. But always get the same recorded message (as if you are processing a passport application).
Will keep you posted.
Ian

CONGRATULATIONS to Ian & Kathy!!!
I also have received my email notification, so our long wait is coming to an end.
I wish some Irish Good Luck and a little Patience to all those still waiting. It's a long wait, but exciting to get to the end!

It’s not a complete redo but you will need a new set of photos.kmosfet wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:12 pmHello,
I have a quick question regarding passport forms for Foreign births. I applied for my foreign birth certificate last December and would like to get the passport application fully filled out before I receive my foreign birth cert. Just so I can have a quick turn around time. On the passport guide it asks for another 4 photos to be taken, certified by proper person..ect. Basically a lot of the steps I already did for the Foreign Birth registration. Is it necessary to redo everything or does the FBR supersede these requirements?
Thanks,

You should follow Wims advice and have your witness standing by rather than get the passport application signed by him/her now.kmosfet wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:12 pmHello,

Will do. And thank you so much for continuing to curate this for everyone. You don't have to do it - I'm sure all here appreciate your effort.Sulla wrote: ↑Wed Sep 11, 2019 2:45 amCongratulations to Ian, Kathy and Liam on their recent progress. I'm sure your certificates will be with you shortly. I know all of you have been waiting over a year and it has been very frustrating at times. At least now it is almost over.
When you actually receive the FBR certificates, please let us know what the actual dates of addition to the register were. Thanks.
