SET (LR) eligibility

Hello friends, i would like to know if i am eligible to apply for SET (LR) application this september.

My immigration history,
I came in UK in October 2009 - 28 months T4 visa
However, in my next extension my application got pending in HO for nearly 17 months because my college license was revoked, i received 60 days letter to apply, i made another T4 application, since then i am continuous on my T4 visa. I currently hold T4 visa until 2021, but my 10 year will be completer this September.

I have not left UK in between and have never overstayed. However, I am worried, if HO considers those 17 months pending period as continuous legal residence or not.

Does anyone have any experience about this topic.

If you applied before visa expiry then you had section 3C. So no issues

You can answer them as you wish. They have no effect on your ILR

Thank you Zimba, i am slightly confused on whether to make an application myself or ask for a help with an immigration adviser (Solicitor), if i make an online application my self then how to get an appointment with the UKVCAS, what is the process of securing an appointment. when i tried the dummy application i found out that we need to make a payment before reaching an appointment section. could you please explain how is the appointment getting process.

It is at the end of the online application process once you have paid.

You cannot see or book appointments before you apply online.

It really depends on where you are based and what service you are opting for.

Note that date of application is the date you submit and pay online and not the date of your appointment. So make sure you do not apply online too early.

how does the home office knows when did i entered the country do they have a record of it, it was stamped 8th of October 2009 in my passport but, it is not very clear at the moment.

There has been no change to the 28 day concession.

HO has your full immigration history and will see from the passports.

Hello friends, during a SET (LR) application there is a question that how long have you lived in the United kingdom.

My 10 years of living will be exact at 8th October 2019, but when i am planning to apply 28 day before (for example 16th of September) now should i write 9 years and 11 months or 10 years.

Yes. It will be 9 years and 11 months. Stop overthinking this as your answers do not change your eligibility

When my wife applied for SET (LR) 3 years ago, she answered NO.

When I applied for SET (LR) 2 weeks ago, I answered YES (saying I'm married to UK citizen and got some long term commitment with house under mortgage, etc).

The reason I didnt' say just NO to this question is that... in the form, we have to tick the clause that we are going to provide all reasons that we want to stay in UK.

You must include all your reasons for wanting to stay in the UK on this application. If you apply later giving reasons you could give now you may lose the right to appeal a refusal of that application. You can give your additional reasons in the space provided at the end of this application if needed.

So, depends on your choice... anyway, I don't think this question matter if your case is straightforward.

Need help, I am applying for SET(LR) application but stuck in two places,

The annual salary, that needs putting in, can it be a rounded figure, i am tier 4 student and work part time per hr, so how can i put a annual income?

second, the consent form i am a single applicant, do i need to sign part 2 and 3. or just leave it blank.

please help

I would have worked it out on the basis of 20 hours X hourly rate X 52 weeks.
You can put N/A on Part 2 and Part 3 and scan all the consents. This is how I did it.

Thank you, when I calculate this way I get figure like 10,500 is this normal for tier4 students. I have slightly higher per hrs payment than others.

Its not about how much money you make from employment being a student. Its about how many hours you have worked. Your pay rate can be £50 per hour depending on your nature of the job. So that will give you higher income. That doesn't mean you have worked for more hours. Its just your hourly pay rate which is very good. So as far as you have worked 20 hours per week or less, you'll be fine.

Also the application form ask that have you ever worked which breaches your visa condition.

Dear Friends, I have made my SET(LR) application yesterday, thank you for all your help,

during my 10 year stay in the UK, I once received a letter from the home office to make a fresh application within 60 days because the licence of my college through which i made application was cancelled, I have included the reference number of the letter in the application but have not upload the document, do you think I should upload that document too. because I still have few more day remaining to upload document in UKVCAS.

Its not required. Home office hold all your history. They know every thing. You don't need to attach that letter.
