BRP

Post by timb1226 » Wed Sep 18, 2019 7:37 pm

Basically my wife's spouse visa expires on December 28, 2019. She has recently renewed her passport with a new name which was issued August 17, 2019.

The question is, would she require an update of her BRP prior to her renewal on end of November 2019. I am aware that we could be fined £1000 if we don't update within the 3 months her new passport was issued. Or could we just do renew on November as normal??

If its a married name then simply update it when extending the visa before 3 months. Also you can apply 28 days before completing 30 months since arrived to UK

Yeah that's the dilemma we have. The BRP update is supposedly 3 months grace period after name change. We were initially thinking of renewing altogether whilst it's within grace period. But I think we're @0 days nshort. So I wonder we can get away without updating BRP.
