Is UPTU CSE Btech degree equivalent to UK degree

I am working as Senior EPM Consultant in Delhi / NCR and recently got an offer letter from one of the UK based companys. They are sponsoring me for General Tier 2 VISA and have already applied for CoS.

I was going through the list of Required documents for General Tier 2 Visa where it is mentioned to have a 'proof of your knowledge of English'. I have my 4 years Graduation Degree (BTech) from Uttar Pradesh Technical University in Computer Science Engineering. I am just wondering if it is recognized by NARIC as equivalent to UK Degree.

Hi thanks for the reply, I checked the NARIC website and they need following documents:

- Final Certificate: I already have my Btech degree
- Transcript: I have the official Transcript
- Medium of Instruction (MoI) letter:

Regarding MoI Letter, our university dont provide this as a separate letter instead they have mentioned all the details (Name, Course, Branch, College, Duration of Course, Year of Admission to Course, Year of Completion of Course and Medium of Instruction) on the Transcript itself.

Do I still need to provide MoI?

I have a few friends who have done graduation from UPTU and got toer 2 general visa. They also used Naric letter to prove their English qualification. If your university is not providing MOI letter, you can get same from your college.
Its accepted by Naric.

I got my Naric letter last week using the MOI letter issued by my college.

HI All,

University provide to me MOI but in footer they written MOI used for "Education purpose only".

I raised query with university and asked i want this for job purpose only and they replied this is only pre-defined format which we have , and we can gave to all MOI requested student.

can anyone confirm is this valid MOI for tier 2 general visa application?

I requested my college to provide the MoI letter in the exact same format accepted by NARIC, which I received successfully. I uploaded the same for NARIC evaluation, once I receive the response from them I will update here as well for others reference.

Not sure about it. If you passed out from UPTU then ask your respective college too for the MoI letter in the required format which you can find on NARIC website.

You can drop an email to 'info@naric.org.uk' with your query, also enclose your MoI in your mail for their reference. NARIC team will revert you if your MoI will be accepted or not.

Naric said "enough if you have certificate which explained course is taught in English" , format is vary by university so but there are not gave clear answer with Yes or No.

from answer , seem MOI is valid for me.

quick question :

little confused on Title of qualification , I have Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering)

Naric Said :
"Do not use punctuation marks or special characters when filling in the fields. Use only letters and numbers.
For example, do not type B.A. or B.Sc. or Ph.D. or Dip. Type without punctuation: BA or BSc or PhD or Dip"

So my question.
what should i write in Title of qualification ?
1.BE
2.BE Computer Engineering
3.Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Engineering)

please share your suggestion on your experience . appreciate your help.

It should not matter much.
You can write it like Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science.

I mentioned this way in my Naric.

I am applied for Visas and Nationality Service.basically i want below to statement.

The Academic Qualification Level Statement (AQUALS). This confirms the academic level of your degree(s).
The English Language Proficiency Statement (ELPS). This confirms the English proficiency level evidenced by your degree(s).

but , when applied showing me options relate to the Statement of Comparability service only under Visas and nationlity service .

So Question here .
what is the statement of comparability although i want AQAULS and ELPS . is this correct option which i selected for service ?
