Child born in uk, Father ILR afterwards

Post by 111muhammadabd » Sat Oct 05, 2019 3:23 pm

Hi

Can someone let me know what is it I need to do please

I have received ILR today, my daughter was born here and she has got indian passport. She did not travel on it. I want to go on holiday. Do I need to apply for my daughter's naturalisation and then passport or can I apply for her passport directly?

Thanks

Your daughter is NOT British so cannot apply directly for a British passport as she was born BEFORE you got ILR.

Yes. You REGISTER a child as British, once approved and you receive the certificate, only then can you apply for a British passport. Only adults are naturalised.

Regisration as British can take a few months.

Thanks CR001

I have got her birth certificate by registering her birth. What else do I need to do?

Registering her BIRTH is not the same thing as Registering her as British. You need to complete form MN1. Current cost is £1023 and it take a couple/few months.
