ILR from Tier 2 : Letter of absence from previous employer

Post by ahmerrulz » Mon Oct 07, 2019 12:28 pm

Hi All,

Can anyone please help me in answering this question.

I am planning to apply for ILR through 5 year tier 2 route and below is my situtaion:

My first tier 2 visa was issued in October 2014 by a company where I worked for 4 years until november 2018 and then I joined xxxx and currently working there. I am ok from salary perspective and also, my current employer, xxxx, is providing me with the letter confirming they still need me for the job and that during the year my absence was paid and approved. However when I contacted my previous employer, they refuse to send me letter of absence and just provided me with a letter stating "Mr X was employed by us permanently from October 2014 until November 2018, for any queries, please contact us".

Will this letter be enough?

I have done alot of business trips and also holidays outside the UK while working with my previous employer. And also I have got few (not all) individual approved holiday letters from my previous employer as well. And ofcourse stamps in my passport. (Not exceeding 180 says in any 12 months)

I am planning to send a cover letter from my side explaining all this. Will this be enough? or what do you guys suggest? Please let me know.

Thanks
Ahmer

A cover letter should be good

You can't apply by post anymore. You must apply online and upload and scan your documents before your UKCVAS biometric appointment.

Super priority is 24 hours but it is not guaranteed.

Standard service is 8 weeks.

Thanks for your response - Which means they are processing applications quickly compared to post which would take 6 months, right?

There is NO postal option anymore.

A Standard Application is 8 weeks, it COULD take longer and up to 6 months, but it is no common these days.

2 months gap in Tier 2 dependent to ILR application

Post by ahmerrulz » Fri Jun 12, 2020 5:09 pm

Hello All,

Can someone please advise us on applying for ILR or someone who has been in the same situation:

My wife is on Tier 2 dependent visa since 1st January 2016 and will be eligible to apply for ILR on 4th December 2020 as we can apply 28 days in advance, however, her current visa expires on 7th October 2020. So there is 2 months gap in between. Can anyone let me know how can I fill these 2 months if I don't want to pay for 2 application:

1- Is FLR O is good option? Do we still have to pay NHS fees?
2- Someone told me that if I apply on any route and delay the biometrics, this would give us time to send ILR application and vary the two application and home office will refund the fees

Please let me know what could be the best option.

Many thanks

Ahmer

Apply for PBS extension before visa expiry, vary to ILR when eligible
