Self-upload passport copies (visitor)

Post by nadekho » Mon Sep 23, 2019 10:25 am

I'm planning to apply for a UK visit visa. I currently don't have my old passports but I have a scanned copy of my entire previous passport and copies of older visas. My old passports are in another country (no valid visas).

Do I need to take all my previous passports to my appointment or is a scan enough? Do they scan the passports again at the VFS visa center?

Thanks. Will I need to take scanned copies even if I have used the self-upload option? I plan to upload all my documents.

You should take all the documents even if you have self uploaded. If there is some issue during document upload at least you can give them the documents at the appointment.

Makes sense. Do they retain any documents including old passports? I have one previous original and one just copy.

They only keep your valid passport and return the rest of the documents.

Cool. The last time I applied, they took the entire bundle of documents and put it in a package to send it off the UKVI.
