Who are considered as a direct family member of EEA citizens ?

Hi,do parents in law and brother in law both consider as direct family members ?
Or brother in law considered extended family members?
Can we apply eea family permit for brother in law ?

in-laws are extended family, not direct family members.

Anybody outside this list is extended.

You can't find it also in the case worker guidelines.

So your in-laws are extended family members.

Bringing EFM using EEA routes has always been difficult. It's indeed much easier than the Adult Dependent Relative but still you have to demonstrate a long a lasting dependency and you have to demonstrate that your EEA rights would be compromised if they refuse your in-laws.

I understand from this that dependent parents of EEA Citizen’s spouse are also direct family member

Since Feb 1st 2017, the extended family of the spouse of an EEA national doesn't qualify but direct family members of the spouse for an EEA national qualify.

So the in-laws of an EEA citizen qualify.

If you are an EEA citizen, the mother and father of your wife, qualify if they are dependent and/or part of your household.

What I’m meaning with this is , direct family members can apply under Eu Settlement Scheme , so I’m trying to establish they can apply under that category if they are dependant of eea household

Only Parents / Father or mothers in law are now called Close family member or DIRECT family member NOT BROTHER IN LAW . BROTHER IN LAW can't apply under EU settlement family permit .
