APPLYING FOR ILR-------ADVICE NEEDED !!!

Post by PACOOLMAN » Mon Jul 21, 2008 8:03 pm

Hi all,

I have been living illegally in the UK for 14 years now.
I entered the country legally and I want to apply for ILR.

I need advise on the procedure to follow, i.e:

1- evidence needed. (what to supply)
2- What forms to fill
3- How much does the application cost?
4- Do I need to sit for any test?
5- who to go to? Do I need a solicitor? Or I can go to Home Office myself?
6- If I need a solicitor, how much does it cost?
7- Could you recommend a good trustworthy solicitor?
8- What is likely to be the timeline?

I have surfed this forum and have notice that people give sound and professional advice. So please help !!!!

The UKBA website has all the information you need. Have a good read of the following links and most of your questions will have been answered in full.

You use Form Set (O) (second option). Waiting times vary for the Long Residency category.

You need to prove that you have knowledge of life in the UK.

You don't need a solicitor, but it might help you with what documents you need to provide, etc.

good luck matey..i'm still waiting, it's coming upto 4 years since my application, they just fob you off with a whole loada rubbish...

first they cash your cheque, put it in the 'wait til they go broke' bin, then after you've seen your m.p more times than your baby or partner, they'll tell you it's finally 'under consideration' (which they told me was some six-seven months ago)....

good luck in any case!
