Certificate arrived last week, dated 02/10/19. On to the passport!

Passport still isn't showing on the tracker. Main website says that the initial application is done by the embassy and they send to them to process once they have done their bit and then it will show. Still as it is almost a week I would have thought it would be showing by now so I guess it might be more than 6 weeks

I am now looking at the FBR website it now says 9-12 month processing time.

I am hoping that the original service level of 6 moths is honored. I checked and double checked all original certified documents of which most were apostilled too though the FBR unit indicated to me apostille was not necessary.
Any feedback on applications where documents were received on May 27.2019? Do they send you an email or anything notifying that your application has been approved??
I’m eager since I want to apply for my Irish passport next. I hope to travel to Ireland for my first time as a citizen in October 2020

It's been taking about a year for USA applications to get approved. It looks like it's improving a tick lately. Right now assume one year from receipt. Iput mine in June/2019 so I don't expect anything unti June 2020.
I think they will speed a little up soon due to getting the new system down/more hirings & my belief that there were fewer applications over the holiday months (Nov-Jan--people spend their money on other things). Just my view of it all. On Day 120 since applying -I mark the calendar!

Just look at the list Sulla has posted above---it follows many people's application timelines.Usually you get an email stating they have your application--that's when the clock seems to start. After that you will here nothing from them until they either need more docs/info/clrification OR ask for an address confirmation indicating probable approval. Once you confirm address people usually get a congrats email.Take the time and just read through the posts on this thread and this has all been talked about.

It hasn't been 6 months for a looooong time despite what the website said. It was "6 months" when I applied but took only a few days short of 12, so uh.. don't get your hopes up - although as people have said, it seems to be getting slightly faster in the last month or so.

A few people from January and February 2019 have now received their certificates. That is coming closer to the 9 month level that the DFA indicate as the upper boundary of application time. I would stress that this is not the experience of the majority of applicants though. Eleven months for basic addition to the register seems to be about average.

I agree with you that the DFA really should not list 6-9 months as the application time when they are not performing at that level in most cases. It does however appear that things are getting a bit better lately. You may get lucky, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

As for having the passport by next October, I would be optimistic on that score. You should be able to get the passport in your hand by late August 2020. Possibly several months before that.

Yes, Cork seems to be the best place to sent UK based passport applications to these days. It's great that Ian discovered and posted about that.

For information of UK passport applicants I sent my passport application direct to Cork as per the instructions for UK citizens - excluding dispatch time (I had a delay between receiving my FBR and sending off my passpport paperwork due to holidays and work) my application showed on the tracker 14th October (four working days after I posted it - this was the day my package was signed for at Cork) and today 22nd October now shows completed and dispatched - so 7 working days from receipt to dispatch - that's pretty good turn round!

Well it is now a week and one day since I took my passport application to the embassy and it is still not showing on the tracker. Has anyone else had it take some time to show on the system? I am thinking perhaps give it until Tuesday when it will have been 2 weeks and call them to ask.

Just wanted to mention that mine showed up in the tracker on 19/09/2019 (estimated dispatch 31/10/2019). It was printed and dispatched on 10/10/2019, so 20 days earlier than estimated. I contacted the embassy yesterday to ask how long it takes to get back to them. I was told it arrived on 17/10/2019, but I can't fetch it until they have completed their administration. I have tried to be patient with this process, but this is starting to get torturous. We have a word for my current emotion in South Africa "gatvol". Give it a google, I'm sure you can relate at this point.

22nd February 2019 - Confirmation/Receipt email from Dublin
23rd October 2019 - Confirmation of address email

I'm over the moon as I called in February to check processing time and they told me it would be a year from the confirmation email in February 2019 - so this is much earlier than I had anticipated! Really exciting that the pace seems to be picking up lately. Fingers crossed for everyone, we're getting there!

Hi Sulla and all,
I am thrilled to see so many having much timelier results with their citizenship applications. Congrats!
I received my cert mid Sept.
Mailed off my passport application Sept 23, 2019 to sf consulate. The passport tracker showed recieved in Ireland as of yesterday Oct 23, 2019. Date of estimated issue date is showing Dec 4, 2019.
Will update once received.
