Better to state the info that HMRC has on the applicant. But even if you state the actuality it should have no adverse impact.

She didn't get any salary from the company and so no tax was due. Could that be an issue?
Are you British and is she applying on the basis of married to a British citizen?? If yes, you need your passport scanned and the marriage cert.My wife is planning to provide scan copies of the below:
