Naturalisation

Post by sumig18 » Sun Oct 27, 2019 11:24 am

Hello Sir,

I got my Indefinite leave to remain on the 21 Nov 2018
My Indian passport expired on the 9 th August 2019.

1. Can I apply for my naturalisation now as it’s still not 1 year yet?

2. Do I need to renew my india passport before applying for naturalisation?

3. What are the documents required for applying for naturalisation?

Sir, if you can kindly answer the above questions.

Thank you
Sumi

I am not an expert but I believe you need to wait 12 months to apply for naturalisation. And you need a valid passport.

A valid passport is NOT required for citizenship!

Oh, Good to know.
But I believe he will need other form of identification isn't it? Like a Birth Certificate or Marriage certificate? Correct me if I'm wrong.

He needs evidence of residence from when the passport expired.

No need for a birth cert it marriage cert.

Expired Passport and brp card is sufficient.
