NI residency without marriage

Post by iibdii » Tue Nov 12, 2019 1:02 pm

Good afternoon dear members,
I was recently granted ILR under eu Settlement scheme from UK.
Next step im looking to apply irish citizenship but im getting two totally different information regarding my case
1) im a durable(unmarried) partner of Irish national residing in NI for 6 years
2) have irish child of age 5

Now some people telling me I can't apply on basis of child as im not living in state and i cant apply on spouse basis as im unmarried.

Please someone guide me if i can apply without marriage on basis of durable partner and roughly how long is the process.
Many thanks in advance

No as you are not married to an Irish citizen living in the island of Ireland, you will not qualify under the 3 years residence for Irish spouse residing in the Island of Ireland.
Maybe British citizenship may be a possibility.
