Guys - Is there any other number apart from 0114 207 4074 where we can get updates about the processing times ?

I've made on 9th June for extension under Tier 1 and still it is not allocated to case worker! Has anyone asked HO in last couple of days on the date of application being processed?
I have applied on 3rd June and I am still waiting for the documents. I have been trying to get an update from HO but no luck
They seem to have moved on to pick up next week lot - upto 10th June. So you case should have been processed. Ring them up...they keep you waiting for 5 minutes but finally you will reach somone!

Hi All,
I got my VISA stamped yesterday. timelines were as follows
Application sent through royal mail - 13 jun 2008 (WP to Tier 1)
Received HO reference letter dated 17 Jun 2008 - 21 Jun 2008.
Sent a Urgent treat ment fax on 17 Jul 2008.
Received all the docs along with passport stamped - 24 Jul 2008
It took exactly 1 month 10 days for my processing.
The reason that I gave for urgent treatment was I am appearing for SAP certification exam and I needed either passport or driving license to appear for the exam.
used to visit this forum regurarly for updates and got benefited a lot.
Thx to everyone and all the best.

Just wanted to let everyone know, I recieved an email from my case worker today regarding Section AA1 - Public Funds, which I had missed out in my form. He asked me to fax it to him.
I had applied on June 10th.

Hello all
I thought I would share my application status
Application sent in - June 13th
Reference number received - June 17th
Sent urgent treatment fax - July 15th (needed passport for August 7th trip to Beijing for Olympics)
Visa issued - July 18th
Passport/documents received - July 24th
Success!
Very similar to ZSGK's case above...

I didn't use an urgent treatment form, i wrote my own letter and faxed it to the number I was given when I called the contact center...I wrote a letter stating the reference number i was given, and why i needed urgent treatment (i needed passport for a flight on august 7th)...

Has any one got an idea on why the processing is taking long time. Last friday when I called they said my application is with Manager of Case Worker.
Applied on 31st May

Does that mean your application is provisionally approved. As soon as you fax the requested page visa will be issued. Tell me if I am wrong in my assessment. Good Luck

Hi,
I have a query,
I made an application for Tier 1 (General) WP --> Tier 1. Regarding Maintenance funds, did a mistake and confused with transitional arrangements finally running short of 10 days for 3 months (maintained funds £2400 from 10 March to 31 May).
Have applied on 31st May and case still pending..
Please can some one suggest..

i had applied for extension(2+3) on the 9th of July and enquired where my application was on the 25th july.
a customer service person was kind enough to give me lot of time telling me that it would take atleast 20th-25th august for my application to reach a case worker and from then on it would take atleast a week depending on the complexity of the case.
He also mentioned that first it would evaluated against the new points based criteria of 75 and if i do not meet the criteria and because of judicial review it would be passed to the other team to evaluate under the old hsmp rules.
They had plans to bring in new forms but that has been delayed.
He was saying most of the extension applications coming in at around this time may have to evaulated using the above criteria.

Have not heard from anyone who has not requested for an urgent treatment but has still got his/her tier1 application approved.
Any such cases please reply and let us know. I've got my GMAT on the 15th of Aug and need my passport for that. My application is currently being processed but that is all that I know about it.
I applied on the 3rd of June and discussed the progress of my application last week. I have been told that it would take a week or two in case the application is simple.

I have been told by the HO that whilst they do not discourage people to send in requests for urgent treatments, HO is not looking at them as matter of priority. This is due to an extraordinary number of urgent treatment requests which have become a norm, rather than exception, as they used to be. HO simply cannot deal with the numbers putting other applications further back.
You just have to think positive and hope you are lucky. Obviously, work related requests might have a better chance than those related to personal matters.
Good luck to all.
