Tier 2 Dependant Switch to Tier 2 General - Maintenance Requirement Change

Post by Bhuvaneswari » Sat Nov 16, 2019 12:06 pm

Hello,

I'm on Tier 2 Dependant currently and planning to switch to a Tier 2 General.

I have received a new COS for 5 years. In the COS they have mentioned "NO" to "confirm the sponsor certifies maintenance for the migrant". I discussed with them and now they are ready to change it to YES but it looks like there is no provision to make changes in the COS. Is it ok to make some note on "Sponsor note" section that they are ok to certify my maintenance?

As the applicant, I don't understand why it is you who is researching this rather than your sponsor!

Your sponsor needs to get advice about the CoS and not from an online forum but either direct from the Home Office, or from whoever advises them on their immigration compliance.

You can also refer them to relevant guidance:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... ms-guide-8

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... s-guide-8a
I do not give immigration advice. I refer you to Immigration Rules, guidance, other online content and to your sponsor.

To avoid confusion. Don't you have £950 pounds for 3 month's in any bank account? You can show that as proof. Overseas account as well.

The easiest way to avoid this hassle is to have the required funds in an account for the required period. If your employer issues you a new certificate that's great but depends on case by case as they may have some restrictions.
