academic or general Ielts for immigration to australia

Hi ,

I am applying for general skilled migration as an skilled independent. Australian computer society has accredited my qualification.
I have taken the academic IELTS and scored overall 8 bands
(l-8.5,w-7,s-8,r-8.5).
Will Australian immigration accept Academic IELTS?
The requirement stated on their site is of General IELTS with 7 bands. If anyone has any information on it, please let me know.

i think Academic is not acceptable but you may get an idea from other users as well

Will you pls tell me in details how and from where u come to know that academic is aproved by DIAC(Australian immigration). I am realy in tension regarding this matter. pls any others contribution regarding this matter is highly desired.

I just got my immigration visa from subcalss 175. We sat for the IELTS academic test and it is excepted. (Academic is more difficult then general)

Academic is for students & general is for migrants who would liek settle down in Australia.
