Post by 1434514 » Tue Nov 26, 2019 2:01 pm

Hi All,

I would appreciate if anyone can help me who has successful completed or have knowlegde the online application form for registering a child under 18.

Back Ground & Questions:

I have got my ILR on 02/10/2019 and my wife is still on dependent wise as i was a tier 2 migrant, My son was born on 08/07/2019 in united kingdom. Can apply to register him as british citizen?

Address Details for the last 5 years? I have answerd YES about my current address as being the previous for the last 5 years. Correct?

Country of Nationality? He doesnot have any nationality at the moment or passport at the moment. I am from Pakistan. Should I write Pakistan in the answer?

Explain why you are unable to provide a valid ID card or travel Document?

Do you currently hold or have held any other nationality? I am from Pakistan but my son donot have a Pakistani passport or ID nor he travelled abroad. Can you please answer that.

Bio metric residence permit for previous stay? I have written no,is this correct?

You need to apply for his passport , that will your son's ID card.
I am not sure about other equivalent valid ID card or travel Document.
Passport would be the one

A UK born child does NOT need a foreign passport to register as British. Birth certificate is sufficient for identity.

Thank you @CR001 and apologies @1434514 for the passport information.
I did not know that and my story was our Immigration lawyer mentioned it is required to have the passport.
Even i had mentioned that it is not mandatory and would cost £££ to get it and cancel it. Well i should have checked this forum a year ago. Thanks again.

No i don't. Please ask any questions you have on the forum and members will offer their advice. It really is not a difficult application to make.

Good Morning Experts

Can any one help please on the referee issue , As my son is only 5 months old so there is no professional who has dealt with him and my GP doesn't act as referee. So document I can provide to show "that they have attemped to do so"as my GP doesn't issue any letters for services rejected.

"For child applicants at least one of the referees must be a person who has dealt with
the child in a professional role such as a teacher, doctor, health visitor or social
worker. Where a child cannot provide a referee who has dealt with them in a
professional capacity and has provided documents to show that they have attempted
to do so, you can accept 2 referees who meet the criteria for referees on adult
applications."
