Switching from Tier 4 to Tier 2

Post by aczd157 » Sun Dec 22, 2019 10:04 am

Hi Members,

I have submitted my Tier 2 visa application on December 17, 2019. I'm a Tier 4 student and completed my Master's degree on 19 December 2019. My question is "Will it be a problem that I have submitted my Tier 2 Visa application before completing the Master's degree?"

Hi,

I also switched from T4 to T2. I had fortunately already graduated before sending my tier 2 but my adviser sent me this email prior to sending my application.

#Email Excerpt#

In order to switch your immigration status to the Tier 2 General category within the UK it is necessary to provide evidence to show that you have completed your course of studies in the UK or you are due to complete within the next 3 months.

if you have completed your course of studies or due to complete your studies within the next 3 months. Please can you provide a letter from your university confirming the following details:

• your name;
• the course title/award;
• the course duration; and
• the date you completed the course, having sat all exams and presented all academic papers; or
• the date you are expected to complete the course, which must be the expected date when all exams will have been taken and all academic papers submitted; or
• confirmation of 12 months’ study if you are studying a PhD course

#Email Excerpt#

So if you provided a letter of that sort when making your application, or most likely to whatever company was applying on your behalf then it should be fine as I had no issue after providing that letter.

Perfect! Thanks for responding. I'm due to submit my letter on Dec 27. I just wanted to make sure that the new clause to apply tier 2 within three months of completing course is actually in effect.
