First spouse visa extension

Post by uk7591 » Fri Dec 13, 2019 2:36 am

Dear members
After getting spouse entry clearance visa and till first spouse visa extension or ILR, do the sponsor needs to maintain the minimum income level for whole five years?
Or just need to meet the financial requirements before applying extension or ilr?

You mean that there is no requirement for a sponsor to maintain minimum income threshold for five years?

No but depending on the length of your service with current employer or type of route (category A/B) it should have been continuous for 12 or 6 months from the date of application.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Dear members
What is the financial requirement for ILR on a five year route
I don’t understand what does it means

Proof of finances

If you’re on the 5-year route, you and your partner usually need to prove that you have at least:

£18,600 a year if you have no children
£22,400 a year if you have 1 child
£2,400 a year for each additional child you have

It is saying ( a year )? What is this a year means ? last full financial year or last five years to meet the financial requirements of ILR on a five year partner route?
Any advice please
Thanks

The financial requirement looks (for salaried employment), at (a) how long you have been working and then whether you satisfy (b) Cat A or B. This will then determine whether the snapshot to decide income levels are based on the preceding 6 or 12 months.
