How many months bank statement is required for visit visa.

Dear all,

Can anyone confirm that how many months should the bank statement be for ? Is there any law / regulation about this ? I have got about 5 months statement. Will it be ok.

Please help as i am willing to apply soon.

Thanks. These references went pass my read but again, i did not find where it says 6 months statements is required. Only requirement is a consistent bank statement for a while to my understanding.

I am in a similar postion and please if you can point to few posts where it mentions requirement of submitting 6 months bank statement as in the link you provided i cant find where it says 6 months bank statement.

See a recent success.

I would like to share a success story for my widow mother of 81 years who got a 6 months visitor visa for UK from India.
The documents which were submitted were:
6 months bank statements
Pension Letter
House ownership and valuation document
Couple of evidences for fixed deposits of money
National Identity card ( PAN, Aadhar)
3 years evidence of paying Income Tax
Supporting letter from my end
Further it is also not necessary that the mother's bank account has to be in her sole name, it can be in joint names also.
