India Tier 1 maintenance a/c stmt: should be only 7 days old

Post by CoolestGuyC » Sat Jun 28, 2008 10:48 am

Link http://www.vfs-uk-in.com/pbsguidance.aspx states following paragraph:

Maintenance (funds)
You must have a minimum level of maintenance (funds) available and score 10 points in this section, or your application will be refused.
You must score 10 points for maintenance (funds), which are awarded if:
• you are applying to a British overseas entry clearance post for permission to come to the United Kingdom (known as 'entry clearance') and have £2,800 in available funds. You will have to show that you have enough funds, by sending documentation showing you have had savings of at least £2,800 for at least three months before applying. You should submit 3 statements and the last of which should be no more than 7 days old on date of application.
I must say that these guys are changing the rules and their interpretation so fast that it becomes impossible to follow them for a normal unsuspecting applicant.

Hi Guys,

This is really scary. I was in UK until October 2007, and presently I am in India. We got HSMP approval and I was planning to apply for entry clearance next week. My funds were maintained in UK. It took 4 working days for the bank statements to reach UK address and my friend had couriered my bank statements yesterday. By the time the statements reach me they would be atleast 10 days old. What should I do now? I cant get the statements from UK any sooner than this. Can some one please suggest what would be the best way round this situation?

Please can some one help????

Regards
vkm81

Does this mean we need to provide 3 statements differently for 3 months?

When did they change the rules. I have applied on June 25th and shown statements till May 26th....

Does this applicable to already submitted application.

You submitted one month old statement. You should have read this link:
http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewto ... 30&start=0
It was posted (Jun 05) before you applied(Jun 26).
Still hope for the best.

"You should submit 3 statements and the last of which should be no more than 7 days old on date of application"

Am still finding it difficult to stand the above lines.
Previously we were giving just one bank statement regarding the 2800 pounds. Does this mean now we have to provide three bank statements, one for each month.

Can you guys please expand further on this.
Thanks for all ur help in advance.

As per UKBA site -
http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/worki ... intenance/

If you are applying from outside the United Kingdom, the balance must show that you have had at least £2,800 in your account at all times over the three-month period.

You need to have transcation history of last three months. Its upto you if you supply last three monthly statements or have all txns on one statement.

Cheers!.

Thanks for replying rajesh,

But if you can see, they are asking for three bank statements and not one, the rules are changed, and i beleive the maintainence thing is also affected.
Its still not clear that they are looking for one or three statements, senior guys pls help on this.

They do not want to see three Statements, their purpouse is to ensure GBP 2800 has been maintained in your account consistently for last three months. Most of the banks issue monthly statements, thats the reason they expect candidates will come up with three statements.

You are unneccessary taking tension on three or one statement.

Regarding Bank statements - Proof of maintaince

Post by jimmymcad » Wed Jul 30, 2008 3:27 pm

Hi,

I wonder if some one replies me as soon as possible.
I need to extend my visa to teir1 from hsmp and i am in UK.

I am working with two companies, and have two different bank accounts, I am maintaining fund which is more than 2800 for atleast 3 months in one of my bank account, But i have another bank account, in which my which does not contain more than 400 pounds. But for applying and earninng points, I have to show this bank account for a proof that my second employer's salary fall in this account.

Is it necessary that all your bank account should contain more than 2800 funds. I will be applying along with my wife visa. Please reply

thank you.

no
I will be applying along with my wife visa.
add her 1600 gbp also to the maintenance requirement.
(that makes total equal to 4400 gbp)

Since the OP is applying from within UK and making an extension application (i.e.- resident in UK for more than 12 months), he needs 800 pounds for self and 533 pounds for each dependent.

If I am not mistaken, isn't your extension more than a year away (Sep 2009)?? It's alway good to be well-prepared and have your doubts cleared well in advance ... just hope UKBA doesn't change the rules before then (you never know with them).

This is true if main applicant in in uk for more than 12 months. If you are in uk for less than 12 months then you need to show 800 gbp for self and 1600 gbp for each dependent.
