Irish Citizenship Non EU Wife & Children

My friend told me that he is applying for his wife Irish Citizenship as she has been in Ireland for 3 years and there non EU children, I thought the wife could apply after 3 years and the non EU children have to wait 5 years, could someone please confirm.

Hey Harry! It looks like having a naturalized parent applying for a minor child is under the list of circumstances for the minister waiving conditions, in which case 3 years seems possible. But I suppose it also depends on how long it takes for the parent to become naturalized, if it's a lengthy wait then I guess it's possible that the kids may near the standard 5 year time on their own. Hopefully someone else will weigh in with this bump.
