Hello,
I hope someone can help me with my query regarding my child’s registration as BC.
Dates as per below:

- Child born in Spain in 2015
- Spanish parents married before birth and still married
- Both parents arrived in 2013 no gaps, same employers and only one address
- Settled status achieved in December 2019 by the three of them
- Both parents preparing exams for naturalisation during 2020

My doubts are regarding our son, what do we have to do for him to get British registration?
Should we apply for his registration when we apply for our naturalisation? Or should we do it afterwards?
When/if he gets the registration, is that permanent or needs to be confirmed when he turns 18? If itneeds to be confirmed, what are the requirements?

You can apply for his registration as BC as part of your citizenship application (and this is the easiest way).
Currently it is still about £1000, but there were some developments so it might become cheaper.
He will not need to pass any tests or attend citizenship ceremony, you will receive his certificate, and he will be BC. No additional confirmations later.

I have read that we should be requesting a permanent residence card before applying for citizenship, is that necessary? I thought 12 months after receiving the settled status we were fine to go

Settled status is sufficient.

You can apply for BC after you have spent 12 months being "free of immigration control", which should be confirmed - by EITHER PR or settled status.
12 months after you got settled status is OK. An alternative is 12 months after you got PR status. (note that the link you refer to is to the discussion before settled status was even introduced)

An advantage of PR is that they "backdate" it: you would get PR on date X + letter saying you are "deemed" Permanent Resident from date Y (which is often before X), and then you can count 12 months from Y.
So in your case, you can simply apply for BC in December 2020.
Or you can apply for PR now, and once you get it, apply 12 months from day they deem you acquired PR (if you came to UK, say, in June 2013, and started to work immediately, then the deemed date would be June 18) - which means you will be able to apply for BC earlier then December 2020.
Given that you say you always had the same job, PR is very easy (essentially, you just send your P60s), so if you are in a rush to apply for BC you may consider doing PR application now.
Note that the child does not have to have PR, settled status, wait 12 months, etc.

We got settled status confirmed back in December 2018, so I think we are fine to apply.

Yes, I know, but it is a bit confusing because it mentions:

"In your application, you can also include family members. Each person included in the application will be assessed against the statutory requirements in their own right.

You can also apply on behalf of a child under 18 if they meet the eligibility criteria."

So I thought that I could apply for myself, my wife and my 4 year-old son in one go, is that correct?

Or shall I apply using the link for the adults and the MN1 for my son?

- Passports
- Proof of parental responsibility, What is this?
- English certificate
- Settled status evidence, Can we use the letter that we received from the HO?
- Letter of consent for our son from both parents
- Proof of living in the UK, do they refer to the Living in the UK test? If so, can we use the email we received from them?
- Marriage certificate
- Two referee declarations for each of us
- Our son's birth certificate, this is in Spanish, shall we translate it?
- Proof of nationality, would not suffice with the passports?

3. No. You need evidence of living in the UK, such as P60s for 5 years etc. Liuk is not the same

4. Yes, any document not in English just be translated by an official translator etc.

Hello All,

I have two questions.

- We had our UKVCAS appointment this Friday but we have had to cancel due to self-isolation, do you know if the deadline for appointments will be extended? Our deadline is the 5th of May but if things go the wrong way they may close the service
