Naturalisation application documentation

Post by rajstyle0485 » Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:27 pm

Hello All,

I apologise if this is a repeated question. I couldn't find a straight answer in any post. Hence asked here.

I have recently submitted online application for naturalisation and completed the biometrics. I would like to know whether the original passport and biometric residence permit to be sent by post or not.

I already uploaded scanned copies of passport (all pages) and the BRP card.

I am bit puzzled whether to send originals in the post to homeoffice or not. I remember seeing a message to send original (passport and BRP card) by post during the application process but not sure and I cannot find it anywhere now.

Appreciate your advise. Thank you.

Regars,
Raj

From the gov.uk website:

https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-in ... w-to-apply
Fill in the form online.

You’ll be asked to make an appointment at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) service point to provide your biometric information (your fingerprints and a photo).

You do not need to send your documents anywhere. You can either:

upload copies into the online service
have them scanned at your UKVCAS appointment
It clearly states that you don't need to send your documents anywhere if you applied online (and I think that's the only way you can apply from inside UK mainland)
