We just sent a normal photocopy of the passport, and the application was accepted that way. You will be asked to send "recent evidence" anyway once your application has sat in the queue for 5 months, and that is when they ask for the passport to be sent in. It worked for us, and overall it seems like a rather reasonable improvement of the process.raindear wrote:So is this really possible? to send the EEA2 application with just a certified true copy of passport and not with the passport? Will the homeoffice process it still or will it just cause delay?
In a perfect world, you would not have to play these tricks. But as long as the applications are queued for so long that the evidence is then considered out of date, you should look after your own interests in the mean time. I do still wonder why they make this process so complicated for all sides involved, but I guess that is not really my problem.
