Post by Grand2015 » Sun Jan 26, 2020 1:55 pm

Hi there I need to reapply in September 2020 for my further leave to remain to be issued. My question is do I need to be working for this to be issued when I have a British minor in my care.

Thanks guys

All your previous posts suggest you are living in Ireland with your spouse

You have also posted your question in the indefinite leave to remain sub forum, which is not relevant to visa extension question and you have not stated what your current visa category is.

Hi that's because I'm asking a question on behalf of my sister law. Which surely shouldn't be a problem

You should've mentioned that you are asking on someone's behalf :!:
What do you mean by ILR reissue ?? ILR is a status that is acquired, it does not expire and does not get reissued. Do you mean her BRP card is running out ??!

Hi no so she has ILR and is going through the 10 years route. So far they gave 2 years. So after 2 years resend all your documents to get the remainder 8 years issued. So far she's doing an apprenticeship which finishes this February. So her question was does she need to be working to submit for her further indefinite leave to remain.

Sorry for the confusion.
Regards

That makes no sense. ILR means indefinite leave to remain. It is granted once, gives you settled status and that is it. Settled status does not need to be extended. There is no 2 years or 8 years or extension.
Do you mean she was granted further limited leave to remain where she can then get her ILR under a 10 year rule, like family route FLR(FP) or long residence route FLR(LR) ??

Hi

Yes further leave to remain
If she is under FLR(FP) there is no need to be employed
