Urgent: NIP after submission and biometrics

Hello,

I received an NIP today for exceeding speed limit in a 30MPH zone. Offence was on 25/01/2020

I have filled in the details, confirming I was the driver and posted it back.

I believe that I would receive an FPN with either a speed awareness course option or a fine.

I submitted my application a couple of weeks ago and attended biometrics on 24/01/2020

Should I notify the home office, and if yes, how can I contact them??

Will it affect my application?

This is my one and only FPN.

Your help is much appreciated.

I am not an expert but I do think you need to inform the home office as they will find out any way.It also shows you are not trying to hide anything .I do not think this necessarily mean your application will be refused.

If you look at the acknowledgement email that what sent when you submitted your application;it gives a link to go to report change of circumstance. All the best.

I would suggest you wait for the result of your speeding if you got course you will not have any points then you don't need to report it
But if you issued the offence you have to let them know I might be wrong but its just my opinion

As the above post suggest it would probably be best to see the outcome. If you're served with an FPN you should notify the Home Office since, as above, HO will find out anyway when they run background checks.

A certain number of FPNs are usually disregarded unless you have a lot of them or if there is something to suggest a pattern of offending. As per the Criminality section of Guide AN:

Fixed penalty notices (such as speeding or parking tickets) must be disclosed, although will not normally be taken into account unless:

• you have failed to pay and there were criminal proceedings as a result
• you received 3 or more fixed penalty notices at any level
• in the past 3 years you received 2 or more fixed penalty notices, at least one of which was at the upper levels (fine of £200 or more).

A single FPN for speeding is unlikely to affect your application, but it's best to disclose it to avoid HO refusing your application on the grounds of deception when considering the good character requirement.
