British citizenship as spouse of British citizen

Post by RugratsRUs » Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:09 pm

Hello. I am just starting my naturalisation application. I am married to a British citizen, have ILR and have been living in the UK for 7.5 years. I have a few questions and was hoping I might find some answers here.

1. I received a FPN 2 years and 9 months ago. I paid the fine and attended a GoSafe course. I have no points on my license currently. In regards to the question about this, do I tick the criminal or civil offense option? The criminal mentions disqualification but I was not disqualified from driving so I am confused.

2. Do I need to mention PCNs? The car is under my husband's name so they would probably not even show up nor do I quite remember when I received them. (Two: one was a parking fine going over time on ticket and the other was driving in a bus lane).

3. It asks about previous immigration applications. I applied for the spousal visa before we came to the UK (from the States where we had been living since getting married 14 years previously) and again for ILR once arriving in the UK. So do I need to mention both of these applications?

4. Does anyone know if my fingerprints would have been taken during the ILR process. I honestly can not remember!

5. Do I need to mention really old speeding tickets in the United States? Over 25 years old. I would not have any info on it.

6. Do we need to send in any original documents or passport (including husband's British passport)? We may need to travel in April so I worry about not having passport.

Thanks for any and all info!

1. I received a FPN 2 years and 9 months ago. I paid the fine and attended a GoSafe course. I have no points on my license currently. In regards to the question about this, do I tick the criminal or civil offense option? The criminal mentions disqualification but I was not disqualified from driving so I am confused. You had a fine and a course? Normally the Course (paid for by you) is in lieue of fine/points. I would say you don't need to mention this.

2. Do I need to mention PCNs? The car is under my husband's name so they would probably not even show up nor do I quite remember when I received them. (Two: one was a parking fine going over time on ticket and the other was driving in a bus lane).Fines will have been under husband's name so nothing to declare.

3. It asks about previous immigration applications. I applied for the spousal visa before we came to the UK (from the States where we had been living since getting married 14 years previously) and again for ILR once arriving in the UK. So do I need to mention both of these applications? The requirement is for all applications.

4. Does anyone know if my fingerprints would have been taken during the ILR process. I honestly can not remember! Maybe but not an issue. Your prints will be taken again anyway.

5. Do I need to mention really old speeding tickets in the United States? Over 25 years old. I would not have any info on it. No.

6. Do we need to send in any original documents or passport (including husband's British passport)? We may need to travel in April so I worry about not having passport. No. You scan and upload online. No issue with travel once application submitted.

Thanks for any and all info! Welcome! Pls ask further questions in this thread.
