Becoming Irish Citizen - NonEU Wife

Post by Clum0 » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:24 pm

Hi there,

I'm a UK citizen who will soon becoming an Irish citizen - awaiting ceremony invitation at present.
My wife who is Colombian, here on a Stamp4EU 5year residency, wants to apply for Irish citizenship.

The guidelines say she needs to be married to an Irish Citizen for more than 3 years, which we are.
Does this mean she is eligible to apply as soon as I am granted Citizenship or do we have to wait another 3 years of Marriage?

Thanks for the Help,

If she has Stamp 4EUFAM for 5 years already, she can apply for it on her own merit.

Does anyone here have any experience in this?
We’ve been married 4 years but I have just been granted Irish citizenship.
Can my wife apply for citizenship now or do we have to wait another 3 years?
