One referee must be a person of professional standing, for example civil servant or member of a professional body. Yes,as long as the referees are not related to you/wife or to the other referee.
I am sure you could say YES and leave it at that - as your daughter is British already it shouldn't really matter.
Home country obviously if you applied form home country!!
Passports is your proof of residence.
