Tier 4 switch to Tier 2

Hi,

I am now applying for COS (tier 2 general , switch from tier 4)
My current tier 4 visa will be expired on 31st March 2020,
So can I put the work start date on COS as 1st April 2020?

That's up to your employer. Ask the HR for advice.

Same situation here. When applying for COS our layer advised to put 2 weeks after your visa application date. So I was applying for Tier 2 on 3rd of Feb and my cos states 17th of Feb as start date. Even tho I haven't got my visa yet. He said it might be a bit of a weird situation if you get new visa and your contact according to cos has not started yet, but your student visa will be no longer valid since you got a Tier 2.
