Hi Cdfly, cdfly wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 3:53 amHi all. Currently working on a joint FBR application with my sister through our paternal grandmother. (We have been "working on it for years", but a surprise pregnancy has been a swift kick to the pants!)
At this point, we are just waiting on the last few documents to be mailed to us.
Today, I received the requested "marriage certificate" from my grandmother's first marriage.... Much to my surprise, the Clerk of Phila County mailed the "certified marriage license and certificate." The first page contains the clerk's certification+seal, and also a scan of the "duplicate certificate" that is basically a mini marriage certificate. I think this is what was returned to the Clerk to confirm that their marriage was performed. The second page is the marriage license application.
Can anyone advise if this document would cover the original marriage certificate requirement? ..Or do I have to go through dealing with the Phila County Clerk's office again..?
Separate question: Can proof of address (bank statement + pay stub) be printed out? All of my recent bills/pay are electronic to save paper
Thanks so much for your help in advanced!
Turned out to be easy as pie. Got my daughter to take a new pic (she has best phone) and uploaded it to the site linked from the email. All done in minutes. Hopefully processing restarts Mondayseanhodges wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 6:48 pm11 days of ‘processing’ on my passport application and they emailed today to tell me they have rejected the photo I sent (exactly the same one that they accepted for the FBR certificate ).
Still, their country, their rules (my country now )
I’ll use the photo resubmission link. Is it a digital upload or do I have to get new prints, have them witnessed and post them?
They told me that my docs will be posted 4 weeks after my passport was dispatched. Super inconvenient!MKCG wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 5:23 pmIs there any known timeframe for getting all your docs back after a successful passport application.?
I’m Waiting on my mums docs back from her passport application so I can re-use for My FbR. She received her passport book on Saturday 29th feb and got her passport ID card through the post today.
Yep, smooth as silk. Process restarted Monday, and immediately switched to 'printing'. Later in the day it switched to 'printing passport card', so I checked the history and they had already posted the 'passport book' (what the rest of us call a passport).seanhodges wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 7:43 pmTurned out to be easy as pie. I only got my passport less than two weeks ago so no documents yet. I'm also in Scotland! I think the post took 3-4 days from Ireland for my passport and about that for my certificate when it was sent out. So I think maybe a couple of weeks away still from seeing my docs back unfortunately.MKCG wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 4:14 pmHave you had urs back yet ?DanaMarie wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:39 pmThey told me that my docs will be posted 4 weeks after my passport was dispatched. If so, how long did it actually take.
Also where are you in the world. I’m in Scotland. I’m assuming that our location/s will also have a bearing on the length of time to get them back.
Hi LA8887,LA8887 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 12:12 pmI thought you also needed to send some photo ID like original driving licence or passport, or a certified copy of them? Or have they relaxed that now?Lee2521 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:45 amI am based in Bristol and I have always used a photo booth for all my visas and passport photos and never had any issues with them , you can get your photos done for the Irish passport too now in boots and other retailers plus I have had my US student visa photo taken on the same one .
Passport application
Firstly 1 x digital photo
Certificates for passport as follows - Birth Certificate , FBR Cert , proof of name and proof of address via (Utility bill) (Bank Statement) and 3 x forms from the passport application

Overall, this process was much faster than we thought. We had sent the passport app to the Irish Consulate in NYC on Jan 31st and by Feb 5th it was already in Dublin for processing and then dispatched the 28th. And worth noting my Dad had a more complicated case (his birth mother who's Irish gave him up for adoption in the US so there was extra paperwork needed). But also makes me feel good about there not being problems with me and my siblings FBR apps
That’s not ideal. A bit disheartening from my angle to be honest lolDanaMarie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 6:24 pmI only got my passport less than two weeks ago so no documents yet. I'm also in Scotland! I did USPS. Didn't have any issues come up with customs or anything, it was pretty standard when I went there and they processed it for me. UPS wouldn't deliver to PO Boxes. I got confirmation from FBR that they received them same day so no issues.TrishMc wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 9:41 pmHi Jordan,
How did you send your documents from the US to the FBR PO box in Ireland? I just tried DHL and they do not deliver to PO Boxes. The USPS form has some customs stuff I am not familiar with - any suggestions?

Think I’m Gona have to just be patient and wait for them to arrive. I don’t want to do the FBR application online Incase the docs I’m waiting for get lost in the post or whatever between Dublin & Glasgow
My recollection is that it took about a week (I got mine in October 2018) following the appearance of the "Dispatched" status . Dublin sent the passport to the San Francisco consulate (where I sent my passport application) Then the consulate sent it to me via Fedex.
Passport arrived yesterday, almost exactly 12 months since I started the whole process on 12th March 2019. Still waiting for passport card and returned documents, but I made it in time for St Patrick's Day!seanhodges wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 8:39 amYep, smooth as silk. Barring postal problems, I should have my passport to wave at my colleagues on St Patrick's Day!

You can still do the application for the FBR without the documents but it's paused until documents and the FBR form is received but it dosen't speed anything up anyway .
The DFA hold onto the passport application certificates up to 4 weeks after the passport/passport cards have been received and mine was returned in under this time about 3 weeks after .
Also it could be quicker not sure if it's slower when apply from the FBR route than the Irish parent route for passports also if it's a renewal or new passport app .
