Visitor Visa for Wife’s Mother (Morocco)

Post by ReVerie » Sun Mar 01, 2020 2:45 pm

Hi Everyone,

I managed to get my wife here on a spouse Visa but now I need to sponsor her mother and 24yr old brother to visit UK for the wedding part here. Can someone advise me on the financial side of things as to how much funds they need to show in their account and how long it might take for the whole process.

Hello

Just a few questions the brother in question:

- How old is he?
- Does he work?
- Is he married with kids?
- Does he own any property?
- Does he have any travel history to Europe, USA, Canada... ?

Sorry, I didn't get the notification for your previous answer.

I have a bad news here: the chances of him getting a visa are nil.

This is a refusal walking.

You can still try, but I don't recommend it as later in life, when his situation improves, he will still have to answer "Yes" to the question if he was ever denied/refused a visa to the UK.

Many thanks,

What about the mother? She works and also has property on her name there. How much funds does she need to show in her account ? Or any other important requirement? This is just so they can come to attend wedding here for which we will have wedding cards and hall booked

That's sound much better. I believe that her chances of getting a visitor visa are reasonable.

They are not after a certain sum. Many applicants make the mistake of inflating the account by borrowing money from friends and relatives in order to impress the Caseworker. But this almost always triggers a refusal.

She needs to show her financial circumstances and explain that she dedicates a reasonable sum for that trip. The sum must commensurate with her revenue and not excessive. Imagine she says she will use £2000 for her trip but that £2000 is equivalent of 3 years of savings, they can turn around and say they don't find it believable for someone to spend 3 years worth of saving in X days trip to the UK.

Genuine and reasonable; and fully document her reasons to go back to her home country.
