Dear All,
I wanted to share some status details and had a few questions. We had applied to upgrade the BRC for my wife from EEA Family member to EU Settlement Scheme “Pre-Settled” status.
Following was our timeline:
Online application submitted: 13th January 2020
Biometrics: 20th February 2020
Home Office email received asking for consent to proceed with application: 20th February 2020
Home Office letter received saying that BRC has been updated will be delivered within 7 working days: 13th March 2020
Home office letter dated: 11th March 2020
In view of the above, I had the following questions:
- We need to send back the old BRC only after we get the new BRC right? Or do we need to immediately send back the old BRC after getting this home office letter?
- The old BRC needs to be sent to the following address, right?
Freepost RRYX-GLYU-GXHZ
Returns Unit
P.O.Box 163
Bristol
BS20 1AB
- While applying for the pre-settled status, we had given my wife’s passport as the identity document and not her old BRC. So, the online pre-settled status is linked to her passport. In this case, we don’t need to send back the new BRC again to the Home Office EU Settlement team right for records update?
- Typically how many days does it take from receiving the letter to getting the new BRC?
Thanks.
